Building Warrant of Fitness
A Building Warrant of Fitness (BWOF) is a legal requirement in New Zealand for buildings with specified systems. Failure to maintain your annual BWOF can lead to financial penalties and impact your building's insurability. It's essential to work with experts like Cove Compliance to ensure ongoing compliance.
Do I need a BWOF or a 12a?
If you have a specified system (e.g. a Fire System, HVAC, a lift or emergency lights) within your building you will need a BWOF. The majority of commercial, industrial and multi-residential buildings will have at least one specified system.
If you are unsure if you require a BWOF, please contact us as we regularly carry out compliance audits for our customers.
