Hand Held Fire Equipment

Fire extinguisher regulations for buildings are governed by the Building Code namely under the Fire Safety (C/AS2) Acceptable Solution. This means that regular maintenance and inspections, including yearly inspections and and a five-yearly full service is required to ensure that fire extinguishers are in good working order.

Do I need Fire Extinguishers?

If you have fire extinguishers within your building you must ensure annual inspections are conducted by a qualified technician, maintenance records are kept and made available and building occupants should be trained in the proper use of fire extinguishers. Additionally, a five-yearly service should be undertaken which involves a full internal inspection and can result in replacement parts being required.

The Cove difference.

Our team of compliance specialists are trained in both identifying fire extinguishers on the sites but also undertaking inspections and arranging additional servicing, replacement parts or full replacement units. Given the majority of the time we are servicing fire extinguishers on buildings we do broader compliance work for, our hand held fire compliance service is a much more efficient process given the Cove technicians are already on site.
